The day commenced with an overview of the Section’s strategic direction for 2026, setting the stage for a series of insightful discussions and presentations. A key highlight was the presentation of OU annual plans, where each unit outlined its planned initiatives, requirements, and opportunities for collaboration.
Event Reporting, Branding, and IEEE Platforms
Informative sessions were held on event reporting, branding guidelines, and the effective use of IEEE platforms such as vTools. These sessions emphasized the importance of visibility and structured documentation, guiding OU leaders on best practices for ensuring their activities are accurately captured and reflected across official IEEE channels.
TENSYMP 2026 — A Flagship Event
Updates on the upcoming TENSYMP conference were shared with attendees, with active involvement from all OUs strongly encouraged. Leaders were briefed on how their units could contribute meaningfully to the organization and success of this flagship event, reinforcing the Section’s collective stake in delivering a high-impact conference.
SAC Insights — Student Branch Chapter Analytics
The IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student Activities Committee presented valuable insights into student branch chapter analytics, highlighting data-driven opportunities to strengthen engagement and expand outreach. The session reinforced the value of collaboration between student and professional entities, with discussions also covering SLSYWC 2026 and strategies for deeper cross-entity engagement.
Networking and Partnership Building
Throughout the day, ample opportunities were provided for networking, allowing OU leaders, SAC volunteers, and Section Executive Committee members to exchange ideas, build meaningful connections, and establish inter-OU partnerships.
