Description

The presentation described the process of creating successful LED lighting, from device to application. It included how LED technology is serving not only the rich but also the poor; how tailoring LED systems to produce light can support the human visual system; the necessary requirements for an LED luminaire to have long life and meet users’ needs; and the innovative thinking required to develop lighting applications that take advantage of the LED’s benefits. The growing pains associated with this transition was also discussed.
