Donating IEEE Transactions to Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa

Industry applications society of the University of Moratuwa donated IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, Emerging and selected topics in power electronics, Industry applications, and Smart Grid to the Department of Electrical Engineering, the University of Moratuwa on 13th of March 2018. Transactions were handed over by the president Mr. Lakshitha Gunasekara in the presence of Dr. Upuli Jayathunga, the advisor of the IAS in the University of Moratuwa. Dr. Asanka Rodrigo, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Director of Post Graduate Studies division of the University of Moratuwa received the donation for the university. These transactions will be publicly available to undergraduate and postgraduate students at the department library. The Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the key departments in the Faculty, and presently conducts a taught M.Sc./P.G. Diploma program and a graduate research program in addition to its main activity of conducting the B.Sc. Eng. program for an annual intake of about 100 students. Approximately 125 students follow the three MSc/ P.G. Diploma Programmes namely Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installations, and Industrial Automation. The Department also offers research degrees leading to Master of Science, Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy. The donated transactions will be added to the Department library and around 500 undergraduates and postgraduates per year, will refer these to their research and project activities. Academic Lecturers and professors will use the content for their teaching programs and they will guide the students to make a better use of the study materials.
