1. Introduction to the current status of IEEE YP SL The Chairman Nadarajah Dheynoshan gave a brief introduction about the present status of IEEE YP SL section to the new members of the Young professionals Executive committee. 2. Highlighting the main target for the year 2018 The main target for the year 2018 is to be the bridge that links the gap between the student community and the professional community to improve the regular interactions among the same. And to grow more local benefits to the members in addition to the benefits currently offered by IEEE . Collaboration with other local professional entities such as IESL, IET .etc, is also a concerned fact in this year. 3. Finalizing events and tasks for the year 2018 Website Career portal and Career Fair YP Meet-ups (Local) ;- Continue the Meet-up session initiated last year by chandana as a series in this year STEP events:- Continue the event Trailblazers to the next phase Fundraising project R10 Humanitarian Technology Conference 2018 - YP event IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student/YP/WIE Congress - YP event 4. Urgent requirements: YP MEET UP, IEEE YP SL Website and Career portal YP Meet up will be the first event hosting for the year 2018 by the newly appointed committee and planned to do that within the month of March. Hence, it will require urgent attention. The event will be titled as “How to invest in Share market” . The website needed to be revamped as soon as possible with necessary details included. Also the career portal is assigned as urgent. Relevant parties are informed and assigned to the fitting. 5. Common platform for communication To share official materials via Email is finalised and for further discussions Whatsapp is finalised to be used as communication platforms. 6. Other suggestions Including a CV writing and an interview preparation workshop to Student Branches too under the project Career Fair which will be advantageous in achieving this year’s main target. Introduce a Loyalty Program which will benefit existing volunteers and to retain membership. Initiating and conducting few events simultaneously to keep the members active. Organizing a non-technical fundraising event. Sending customized notices for companies listing benefits of IEEE YP Membership via Industry Coordinates to increase YP Memberships. Finally, to organize a Global or R10 IEEE YP meet up for the first time in Sri Lanka.
