Dream Venture –Startups for Women day 2

June 28, 2018 · 2:30 AM - 12:30 PM @ Kandy,

Description

Female population in Sri Lanka is 52% of a total estimated population of 21 million. 70% of them are engaging in business and out of them only 35% have legally registered as women entrepreneurs. However the 52% of women are not generating adequate income which lessen the country’s ability to develop economically. Starting young, career development initiatives can help girls acquire the education, skills and confidence to pursue courses, particularly in the STEM fields or in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programs, which will empower women to start creating income on their own. The first ever two-day female startups project in Sri Lanka was successfully held focusing mainly on creating awareness and motivation on female entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka on 28th of April and 2nd of June 2018 in Kandy.
