IEEE Student Branch of University of Kelaniya organized a session on Blockchain concept on 12 th of July 2019 at Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya from 3pm to 5pm. Mr. Tharuka Vishwajith, a former IEEE President of the Student Branch was invited for the session as the guest speaker. Mr. Tharuka is currently employed at MVV Technologies as a Software Engineer and he shared his extensive knowledge on Blockchains with the students by giving a basic overview of the concept and illustrating examples. Students in Software Engineering and Computing fields in the University participated for the session and the total count was approximately 100. The students were encouraged to research more about Blockchains by Mr. Tharuka and he answered questions raised by the audience.
