Description

IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Branch Affinity Group of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLLIIT) in collaboration with the ImechE Student Chapter of SLIIT organized "PIT STOP 1.0" in order to give female undergraduates some insight about automobile handling. The event started off with an introductory lecture session conducted by Mr. Kasun Yukthika Abeysinghe, Research Associate at Bentley CAE Research unit and graduate from SLIIT. His session mainly focused on functionality of vehicles, vehicle parts and importance of road saftey. The lecture session was then followed by a practical session which gave the opportunity to the attendees to get a hands-on experience on troubleshooting problems when a vehicle gets malfunctioned. Activities like tire changing, oil testing, engine troubleshooting, and engine diagnostics were conducted and the performances of attendees were monitored by Mr. Kasun Yukthika Abeysinghe, Mr. Sean Labrooy and the members of the organizing committee. The event was overall a sucess with positive feedback from the attendees.
