The Build-a-Robot Robotics Challenge, organized by the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of University of Moratuwa, was held for the 3rd consecutive time at the Civil Auditorium of the Univeristy, from 9.00am to 5.00pm on the 1st of December 2018. The competition was the succesive event of the Build-a-Robot Robotics workshop held on 13th October 2018, where enthusiastic teams of Undergraduates were given the opportunity to exhibit their knowldge gained through the workshop by competing with each other using the line following and obstacle avoiding robots built by them. Stepping out of the "Girls only" rule, the competition was opened for both male and female Undergraduates this year. Also, the event was open to all University Undergradates of Sri Lanka. However, each and every team was expected to have at least 3 girls and also a girl as the Team's Leader. The 10+ teams who participated were judged by a panel of experts consisting of Prof. Dileeka Dias (Advisor), Dr. Peshala G. Jayasekara, and Dr. Sagara Sumathipala. The three best teams were awarded with exciting cash prizes, and each and every participant was awarded a valuable certificate.
