The First Ever Officer Induction and Operational Summit - StepUp'19 of IEEE Student Branch University of Moratuwa was held on 21st of September 2019 from 8.30 am onwards at the Auditorium, MJF Centre, Moratuwa with over 40 participants. The main purpose of StepUp’19 was to boost chapter outputs as well as Individual outputs to a next level by motivating the officers. Participants of the event were Executive Committee, Chapter Officers, Director Board and Members of Design, Editorial and Finance Committees of IEEE Student Branch University of Moratuwa. Event Managers of StepUp’19 were Student Branch Secretary, MS, Randima Hasanthi and Student Branch Vice Chairman, Mr. Janith Wijesingha. The event was started with the Goal Setting session conducted by Secretary, Ms. Randima Hasanthi to onboard the officers of the student branch. Former Chairman of IEEE Student Branch University of Moratuwa, Mr. Sapumal Walisundara, gave an “Introduction on IEEE”. Two guest speakers, Mr.Peshan Sampath, Project Coordinator of IEEE Region 10 Student Activities Committee 2019 addressed the gathering by explaining “IEEE career after Student Branch” and Mr. Lakshitha Gunasekara, Chairman of IAS Sri Lanka Chapter delivered a session on “Travel Grants and vTools”. After that, the whole gathering experienced an enjoyable Kahoot while they were given refreshments. Additionally, new implementations and operational process of Student Branch, Monthly progress and year plans of five student branch Chapters and WiE Affinity group was discussed in the operational summit.
