WIE SL Section – ExCom Meeting 02 11 th February, 2019 from 2130h – 2230h Venue: Online Meeting was initiated by the Chair Dr. Windhya Rankothge Participants: Dr. Windhya, , Dr. Rasara, Heshani, Dilrukshi, Dulma, Dr. Jeevani, Shashika, Akila, Abharna, Dr. Maheshi Chair, Dr. Windhya initiated the meeting and welcomed the members. The main purpose of the meeting was to finalize the year plan and initiate the planned events. Committee reviewed the brainstorm sheet, which had the ideas of the ExCom members for the year plan. It was decided to have the ‘student branch officer training program’ under the coordination of the student activity chair. Coding competition was decided to be conducted as the main event of the section, with several workshops and a final competition at the end, with the participation of all the female tech enthusiasts in the section.Social program and the evening function with the industry were decided to be combined. Further, it was decided to conduct a WIE tech forum, with the industrial collaboration. Dilrukshi stated that there is a possibility of obtaining a sponsorship for the Coding Competition and the Tech Forum from Oracle, and emphasized the importance of preparing the event proposals and calling for volunteers. Abharna was assigned to call for student volunteers for the section. Dr. Windhya took the responsibility of coordinating the Coding Competition. Ms. Shashika was given the responsibility of updating the website of WIE SL Section and managing the official fb page. Meeting was adjourned at 2230h.
