The Annual General Meeting – 2018/2019 of IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of Sri Lanka Section was held on 30 th December, 2018, at Sri Lanka Technological Campus, in parallel to the IEEE SYW Congress’18 of Sri Lanka Section. Meeting was commenced at 10.00 a.m. with the participation of around 30 members, including students, graduates and WIE executive committee members. The gathering was welcomed to the Annual General Meeting by Dr. Jeevani Jayasinghe, Chair of IEEE WIE Sri Lanka Section. Then the Activity Report of the year 2018 was presented by the Chair, emphasizing on the achievements of the section as well as the major activities conducted throughout the year. Subsequently the Minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting was read by the Secretary, Ms. Sachinthana Pathirana. Since there were no matters arising, the minutes were adopted with the proposal and approval of the members. Afterwards, the Section’s accounts for the year 2018, was presented by the Treasurer, Dr. Maheshi Dissanayake. The Treasurers’ report was then adopted upon confirmation that there were no matters arising from the report. As the next item, the office bearers for the year 2019 were elected as follows. In her speech, she emphasized on the importance of volunteering in developing the character. With the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Windya, the meeting was adjourned at 1030h and the session was handed over for the proceedings of the WIE Track.
