IEEE Power and Energy Society Sri Lanka Chapter organized a field visit to 10MW Waste-to-Energy project on 10/11/2019 for the membership. Western Power Company, a subsidiary of Aitken Spence has scheduled the commission of the this 10 MW power plant by 2020, in Kerawalapitiya, Muthurajawela, that will consume all of Colombo Municipality’s solid garbage. The IEEE PES members were able to observe and understand the insights of the on-going project and the importance of waste management.
