The meeting was chaired by the Chairman, Dr. Asanka Rodrigo. The Chair welcomed everyone to the second EXCOM meeting and announced the agenda. The following matters were discussed: R10 Chapter Chair meeting Dr Asanka informed about nominating a member from Executive committee to the R10 Chapter Chair meeting. Dr Binduhewa nominated Ms Akila – Secretary for the chapter chair meeting and committee approve the nominee. Nomination call for PES Outstanding Engineer Award: Dr Asanka requested the Secretary to send an email to PES membership asking for nominations for both PES Outstanding Engineer and Young Engineer Award. It was decided to nominate Prof Manjula as the judicator for the selection process of the awards. Status of PES Web site updating: Dr Asanka Rodrigo requested an update on the PES SL website from Mr. Ashan Bandara. Mr. Ashan mentioned that he has updated the website and the Excom member information. It was suggested to rearrange the front page of the website. Activates for Membership Growth: After the discussion on plans for membership growth it was decided to coordinate with PES student branch chapters at University of Jaffna, SLIIT and Ruhuna for future events. It was also suggested that PES student chapter at University of Sri Jayewardenepura should be initiated. Since there were no other issues to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
