The first-ever ComSoc-SL Tech Meetup organized by IEEE Communications Society, Sri Lanka Chapter was held on 12th Dec 2019 at Mobitel Innovation Center, Trace City. The Keynote Speech on “5G on the Horizon: AI in the air” was delivered by Prof.Sudharman Jayaweera from Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of New Mexico USA. After to the keynote speech, the panel discussion on “The Next Decade of the Telecommunications Industry in Sri Lanka with 5G in the Horizon” , moderated by Dr.Tharaka Samarasinghe, the senior lecturer of University of Moratuwa, was an eye opening session for the participants to forsee the impact of 5G in the Sri Lankan context.
