EXCOM Meeting of IAS Sri Lanka Section

April 8, 2019 · 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM @ Colombo3, Crescat Boulevard

Description

The EXCOM came together for their first meeting together with the purpose of planning the activities to be conducted throughout the year. The past chair Mr. Pamitha Kaluaratchi enlightened the committee with the details of the activities done during the previous year and explained in detail what sort of issues arose and how the committee was able to manage and overcome them successfully. He also gave some valuable tips on how to manage projects and events and secure sponsorships. Next it was decided to conduct three types of projects throughout the year; a humanitarian project, a student related program series and a digital campaign. A rough timeline was set for the projects spanning throughout the year and several ideas were put through for each of these projects. It was suggested that an orientation related program series would be best for the student related project to stir the interest of the undergraduate community towards IAS with the aim of increasing the IAS membership as well. It was also decided to renew the IAS Sri Lanka Chapter website and to make it more active throughout the year. The EXCOM was asked to think about potential humanitarian projects and everyone agreed to discuss their ideas through an online meeting in the near future. Next the team had dinner before concluding the meeting and heading home.
