This workshop was conducted with the goal of orienting the Students to the AGILE software development methods. Miss. Dinuka Jayaweera was the speaker for the event. The SCRUM framework was explained through an interactive session where the students were presented with an activity (Easter Agg Challenge) to complete using the framework. The Agenda for the session was as below; The Agile Manifesto The Scrum Framework The 5 Scrum Events (Sprint, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective) The 4 Scrum Roles (Scrum Team, ScrumMaster, Product Owner, Development Team) The 3 Scrum Artifacts (Product Increment, Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog) The Definition of Done Product Backlog Refinement Agile techniques for writing Product Backlog Items Agile methods for project estimation, planning, and tracking The session was highly interactive and the feedback from the students implied that they were really happy about the knowledge they acquired. The session was concluded with refreshments for the participants which was also an opportunity for them to further discuss their questions with each other and the speaker.
