IEEE PELS Student Branch Chapter University of Moratuwa is the newest addition to the IEEE Sri Lanka Section and also this is the Seventh Student Branch Chapter of IEEE Student Branch, University of Moratuwa, allowing it to further continue its journey as the Student Branch with the highest number of Student Branch Chapters in IEEE Sri Lanka Section. The founding Executive Committee for the term 20/21 was appointed through a Zoom meeting where Prof. Udayanga Hemapala, IEEE Power Electronics Society Student Branch Chapter Advisor of the University of Moratuwa and Mr. Chamika Sudusinghe, Sectional Student Representative, IEEE Sri Lanka Section joined in as the guest speakers of the event. The participants were enlightened by their speeches and the election was carried out to elect members for the positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. Year Plan for the freshly initiated term 20/21 was presented by the newly appointed Chairman, Randima Hasanthi and the Expected Budget Statement was presented by the Treasurer, Themal Ekanayake. The event was concluded with a thank you note by the Secretary, Kasuni Wanninayake by opening the door to a path where the IEEE PELS could empower a sustainable future.
