“IEEE New Year Celebration 2020” organized by IEEE Student Branch, University of Moratuwa was successfully held on 2 nd January 2020 at the Seminar Room, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa. The Event managers of this first event of the year 2020 were Mr. Janith Wijesingha, SB Vice Chairman and Ms. Randima Hasanthi, SB Secretary where Ms. Amanda Andrahennadi and Mr. Lahiru Nimeshka were the Co-Chairs. The event was lightened up by the presence of Mr. Peshan Sampath, the Assistant Secretary of IEEE Sri Lanka Section, who is a former Executive Committee member of the Student Branch. Former Executive Committee members, Current SB Executive committee members, officers of the SB Chapters, WiE AG and active volunteers of the Student Branch participated in the celebration. Mr. Peshan address the gathering with the new year thoughts for the year 2020 and gave his insights to successfully drive the Student Branch in this year. Then, the new year celebration was began, and the participants enjoyed it together.
