IEEE PES Zero Hunger Day was organized by IEEE Student Branch, University of Moratuwa in collaboration with the Leo Club of University of Moratuwa to uplift the community by giving relief for people who suffer from hunger. The 2019 IEEE PES Zero hunger Day promotes food donation based on IEEE and PES technical events to celebrate 4 th year of the 17 UN Sustainable Development goals. An awareness session on the IEEE PES Zero Hunger Day was held on 6 th of October 2019 to aware the IEEE and PES volunteers on engagement with 5 PES pillars of the “More Power to the Future” vision. The poster design competition was held on 10 th of December 2019 at the university premises with the theme of “Hunger Relief”, upholding the engagement of IEEE and PES volunteers with their social responsibility upon the community who suffer from hunger. Over 30 participants took part in the competition and the winners were rewarded at the end of the competition. On the following day, a food donation was carried out for the people in need in the Moratuwa area. “a-designstudio” sponsored the PES Zero Hunger Day with Rs. 30,000/= by showing their generosity to help people.
