The first monthly meeting of the Student Branch Exective Committee was held via "Zoom" virtual platform on 1st of August. The main focus of the meeting was to discuss about the progress of work and plans for a successful term ahead. Meeting attendees Executive committee members of IEEE Student Branch University of Moratuwa Chairman – Hashan Jayalath Vice Chairman – Nisal Jayamuni Secretary – Awishka Thuduwage Assistant Secretary – Anushika Warunee Treasurer – Shenal Theekshana Webmaster – Hashara Kumarasinghe Discussion The meeting was primarily focused on planning the activities to be organized by the student branch during the term 2020/2021. After some inefficiencies occurred during the last term were brought to attention by each ex-com member, it was suggested to make changes to the existing structure of the director board of the student branch while adhering to the constitution. Procedure and time plan for member recruitment for the student branch committees for term 20/21 was discussed. The progress and active participation of IEEE members were also discussed with reference to the performance tracking tool. Furthermore, it was brought to attention that the importance of following up and being updated about grants and planning the upcoming events to align with the necessary criteria to win grants.
