Description
The 4th Annual General Meeting of IEEE Student Branch of University of Kelaniya was held on Monday, 21st of September 2020 from 12.00 pm onwards through online Zoom Meetings. The purpose of the meeting was to appoint office bearers for the new term of office 2020/21. IEEE student members and other undergraduates willing to join the society were present at the meeting including the outgoing Executive Committee members. Dr. Sidath Liyanage, the Student Branch Advisor was also present at the meeting. The meeting commenced with the outgoing committee taking their seats. The minutes of the second Annual General Meeting was presented to the house followed by the Treasurer’s Report for the year. The new office bearers were then nominated and appointed by the house without any objections. Accordingly, the Student Branch Chair of University of Kelaniya for the Year 2020/21 is Mr. Isuru Ranaweera. Mr. Mihindu Ranasinghe was nominated as the Student Branch Vice Chair and Miss. Nimesha Dilini was nominated as the Student Branch Secretary. Dr. Sidath Liyanage was proposed as the Senior Treasurer for this year too. Mr. Isuru Ranaweera and Dr. Sidath Liyanage addressed the gathering and emphasized on the need to focus on more technical events and approaches during the year as a well-functioning Student Branch.
