The webinar on ‘Shine with IEEE Rising Stars 2021’ was an event organized by collaboration of three newly initiated IEEE Student Chapters of University of Moratuwa, namely IEEE IES SBC of UoM, IEEE PELS SBC of UoM and IEEE NPSS SBC of UoM. This was held on 28 th November 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:10 p.m. The session was commenced with an introduction of the guest speaker and the IEEE Rising Stars 2021 global conference. Then, the guest speaker, Ms. Warunika Hippola, Assistant Secretary of IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka was warmly welcomed by Oshada Jayasinghe, the chairman of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society SBC of University of Moratuwa. After that, Ms. Warunika Hippola was handed over the webinar to conduct her informative presentation about the purpose, opportunities and the process of registration for IEEE Rising Stars 2021. Further, she shared her experiences on IEEE international volunteering opportunities, how to become a part of them and the way those opportunities help to build one’s caliber. Next, a Q&A session was conducted, which helped the audience to clarify their doubts. Before concluding the event, Thisara Madawalage, the chairman of the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society delivered the vote of thanks. The webinar was successfully concluded, and the information delivered helped participants to gain a sound notion about IEEE Rising Stars 2021 global conference and IEEE international volunteering opportunities.
