‘Robotics for 21st Century’ organized by the IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa was a webinar focused on discussing the current trends in the Robotic Industry. The webinar was held virtually via Zoom on 17th January 2021. The guest speaker, Mr. Gamini Dissanayake held the James N. Kirby distinguished professorship of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. He, who currently works as an emeritus professor attached to that University, has made an immense contribution to the field of Mechatronics Engineering and Robotics over the past few decades. He conducted his speech on the advances of robotics and shared his vast experience on the field of Robotics throughout his speech. Questions were raised by the audience through the slido platform where the speaker eagerly shared his expertise by answering them. The session concluded successfully with the participation of more than 150 robotic enthusiasts.
