IEEE Sri Lanka Section Congress , is one of the significant events in Sri Lanka, exclusively for the IEEEians and Non-IEEEians who are in the professional community with interest in IEEE, to have a blast with a lot more. The year 2020 will witness the 9th SL SYWC congress happening live and the IEEE Sri Lanka section is ready to offer a grand event to the young undergraduates related to engineering fields in the country.IEEE Student Branch of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University collaborating with IEEE SL SYW Congress’20 organized an “ IEEE Congress Awareness Session - 2020” with the aim of giving a better idea about what is going to happen in the IEEE Sri Lankan Session Congress -2020. People who are willing to participate in IEEE Sri Lanka section congress this year, the event was a great opportunity to know what is happening there in advance.Session was held gathering all the registered participants on 24th of December 2020 from 6.00PM to 7.15PM via Zoom. Mr Lakshan Madushanka and Miss Sewwandie Nanayakkara were invited as the speakers for this session. Mr Lakshan Madushanka Co-chair of the IEEE SLSYWC 2020, an undergraduate of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya and Miss Sewwandie Nanayakkara, IEEE SLSYWC’20- Secretary final year computer engineering undergraduate of Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya. At sharp 6.00PM we started the session with welcoming our guest speakers. Mr Lakshan Madushanka and Miss Sewwandie Nanayakkara conducted wonderful and interactive sessions. They explained what IEEE Section Congress is,What is IEEE Sri Lankan Section Congress and how they can take part in IEEE SLSYWC 2020. They also gave a brief idea of history of the IEEE Sri Lankan Section Congress and all the past events and shared their experience with the audience. They explained what is the theme of this year's session and what are the co - events that are going to be held apart from the main events. Session was ended with helding Kahoot online quiz game. With the 130+ online participants we have been able to successfully conduct the IEEE Congress Awareness Session - 2020. It was a great success, our heartiest compliment to our guest speakers for giving us the motivation to make the event a positive and memorable experience. And our immense gratitude to all of the participants for being a wonderful audience.
