Description
IEEE Student Branch of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University was established in 2016 as a student branch of the mother body. Since then, we have been volunteering and carrying out so many events to provide facilities to students in the fields of Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, etc. Due to this COVID-19 pandemic, we need to confront numerous troubles when we are accomplishing our Branch activities. The Annual General Meeting 2021 of the IEEE Student Branch of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University was also conducted online and it was organized to make others aware about new formalities, the outlook and the path of our Student Branch. So as the prime tasks of this event the annual reports of the year 2020/21 were presented and the new executive committee members of the IEEE Student Branch for the year 2021/22 were appointed. The event was held gathering all the Engineering and Computing undergraduates of our university on 2nd of March 2021 from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm via Zoom. Mr. Damith Wickramanayake was invited as the guest speaker for this event and the Student Branch Counselor Dr. Asela Gunasekara conducted the election to appoint the new members for the executive committee for the year 2021/22 followed by his speech. Also Mr. Sidath Weerasinghe addressed the gathering as an advisor of our Student Branch. The profiles of the speakers are as follows.
