Low Phase Noise Generation Utilizing oscillators, Resonators & Filters & Atomic Clocks

September 23, 2020 · 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM @ Online event

Description

A virtual talk on " Low Phase Noise Generation Utilizing oscillators, Resonators &Filters & Atomic Clocks was organized by the IEEE MTT-S Student Branch Chanper of University of Peradeniya on 23rd September 2020 from 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm. The talk was conducted by IEEE distinguished Professor Jeremy Everard, Professor of Electronics at the University of York. He was awarded five-year research chair in Low Phase Noise Signal Generation sponsored by BAE Systems and the Royal Academy of Engineering. He has published a book on" Fundamentals of RF circuit design with low phase oscillators" The talk initially discussed the theory and design of a wide variety of oscillators offering the very best performance. The participants were also able to gain their knowledge about the oscillators requiring low phase noise which are used in communication, control systems, RADAR and navigation systems and also as flywheel oscillators for atomic clocks, particle accelerator systems and Very Long Base Interferometry (VLBI) systems. They also got the chance to ask questions and clear their doubts in this area. This virtual event was a great opportunity for the participants from different universities of the country to learn more about this area of study.
