Description

ReidXtreme Hackathon Objective IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE Student members – advised and proctored by an IEEE member, and often supported by an IEEE Student Branch – compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems. In 2020 they execute the 14th iteration of IEEE Xtreme Every year University of Colombo School of Computing hosts an IEEEXtreme event inside the university premises with help of the IEEE Student Branch. The Core Objective of this hackathon series is to build up the competitive programming skills among the students to successfully complete the IEEEXtreme Global context. Apart from that it impacts building up the school rankings with other universities to highlight our students talents across the country. Process Workflow This section expresses how the competition will execute in the backend. Hackathon series will be conducted every month with the help of the moderators who create the question for the monthly context. Each context has 15 questions to complete within 6 hours. The competition rounds will be hosted as a Hackerrank platform which is the latest and easiest way to organize programming competitions these days. Each Monthly context targets to cover comprehensive sections in a competitive programming domain. Context 1 : Basic Techniques (Sorting, Searching, Bit Manipulation) Context 2: Tree & Graph Problems Context 3: Greedy Algorithms Context 4: Dynamic Programming Context 5: Advance Topics like Game Theory, Geometry, Number Theory Each Context Contains Easy, Medium, Hard type questions to improve the quality and competitiveness among the student teams. All the questions will create based on the competitive programmer guidelines and restrictions. Eligibility Each student should be a valid student from the University of Colombo School of Computing Each team have a name of their own Participation Competitors need to form a group with 3 members for each team and each member should be from the same academic year. At first, they should register for PreXtremeUCSC context via the google form then the organization sends an email confirmation with Hackerrank Access Details. Every month we send those details to the team leader. Team leaders should share the details among the team members to log into the hacker rank context.
