The Opening Ceremony of Clouds Skills Challenge organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Peradeniya in collaboration with the Association of Computer Engineering Students, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society of the University of Peradeniya, and the Computer Society of the University of Peradeniya, successfully conducted with the theme "Plan your career Create your future", on 16th of March,2021, from 5.30 pm onwards. It has begun with a brief introduction to the "Cloud Skills Challenge" which will be a self-paced competition for Undergraduates at the University of Peradeniya happening from 19th March 2021 to 18th May 2021. Then the session moved to the main target, enhance the participant's self-knowledge and give them the confidence to explore wider career opportunities. Microsoft Modern workplace expert, Technical consultant, and trainer Mr. Tharindu Gunarathne was the guest speaker of the day who joined us to illuminate the audience on this vast topic. After his insightful speech, a very interactive Q n A session took place. Before the end, the moderator reminded the audience about the Cloud Skill challenge. Mentioned that the participants would have to complete modules through Microsoft Learn Platform and points would be given for each module they complete throughout the given time period. Participants should collect enough points to stay at the top of the leader board to win exclusive swags from Microsoft. It was completed after 3 hours, giving a maximum value covering all the aspects.
