IEEE Student Branch, University of Ruhuna altogether with IAS, University of Ruhuna has been successfully continuing the SOS Children's Village Charity Event for three consecutive years intending to uplift the educational status of the children in SOS village and preparing them properly for the Ordinary level examination. But due to the sudden epidemic situation of the country, it was difficult for us to visit the SOS village and conduct seminars as before, this year. And hence, we resumed online sessions from the 15th of November 2020 from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The opening day of the seminar series was graced by the Village Director MS. Rehani Mahawitagama. Students and also the members were much enthusiastic and were excited about the new experience. The sessions went well with good feedbacks from the students. We had to break the sessions for some period as we had end-semester examinations and we restarted the sessions on the 16th of May 2021. When restarting the sessions through Zoom, we noticed that students are having connection issues and didn't have enough signal strength to engage actively in the session. Considering this matter and with the will to give the best to the students, we started uploading the required session materials to google drive and gave access to the students, which seemed to be a much productive method.
