The webinar on ‘The Role of Nuclear Science in Sustainable Development’ was organized by IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa, which was held on 06th June 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. via zoom. The moderator, Vinuri Ambegoda started the session giving an introduction of the speaker and Nuclear Science. Then, the guest speaker, Dr. Manuja R. Lamabadusuriya, the Head of the Nuclear Science Department, University of Colombo was warmly welcomed by Thisara Madawalage, the chairman of the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society SBC of University of Moratuwa. Thereafter, the webinar was handed over to Dr. Manuja R. Lamabadusuriya for her informative presentation, which was mainly focused on nuclear science, its industrial applications and how nuclear science contribute towards sustainable development. After that, a Q &A session was conducted, providing the audience an opportunity to clarify their doubts related to nuclear science. Then, the webinar was concluded after delivering the vote of thanks by Sehani Siriwardana, the secretary of the Student Branch Chapter.
