Description
The year 2021 is a remarkable event for the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Kelaniya. This year marks the fifth year since we started the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Kelaniya. We established the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of the University of Kelaniya. Therefore, this is the origination and Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2021 of the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of Kelaniya University. AGM was held concurrently with the Annual General Meeting of the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Kelaniya. The meeting began with the resignation of last year's office-bearers of the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Kelaniya. After appointing the new office bearers for 2021, the newly appointed Chairperson of IEEE Student Branch, Mr. Mihindu Ranasinghe, allowed appointing the Chairperson for the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of the University of Kelaniya. There onwards, the Chairperson of WIE Affinity Group, Ms. Zina Youhan, continued the AGM. Ms. Supuni Uthpala as the Vice-Chair, Ms. Githmi Vithanawasam as the Secretary, Ms. Nipuni Perera as the Treasurer, and other office-bearers appointed. The executive committee for the new term of IEEE WIE Affinity Group of the University of Kelaniya took up their positions. The WIE Affinity Group Chair, Ms. Zina Youhan, addressed the gathering with her thoughts about the affinity group and the plans for the new term.
