The talk "Machine Learning Applications for Mining Complexes" was conducted on July 2nd, 2021 from 10 am. Miss Methusha Thuraisingam, Chair of IEEE Women in Engineering Student Branch Affinity Group, University of Jaffna, started the session by welcoming the keynote speaker, Student branch Counsellor, WIE Affinity Group advisor, and attendees, as well as introducing and inviting the keynote speaker Dr. (Mrs.) Mehala Balamurali to continue her presentation. Dr. (Mrs.) Mehala Balamurali provided a brief overview of machine learning and machine learning applications for mining complexes to the participants. She also talked about the many forms of mining, how to collect data for mining, how to pre-process data, and how to classify algorithms. Not only that, but she also discussed various applications of machine learning. At the end of her presentation, she answered the questions raised in the chat The virtual token of appreciation was then presented to the guest speaker by the Chair of IEEE WIE SB Affinity Group, University of Jaffna. She also advised the attendees to complete the feedback form. The vote of thanks was then given by the secretary of IEEE WIE SB Affinity Group of UOJ, who thanked the keynote speaker, counsellor of IEEE Student Branch of university of Jaffna, advisor of WIE Student Branch Affinity Group, committee members of WIE Student Branch Affinity Group and all other valuable participants. The event had 109 participants joined via zoom and the event was wound up at about 11.25 am.
