Description
The seminar series, “Sip Abhises” was an o/l seminar series which was organized by IEEE WiE Student Branch Affinity Group of University of Moratuwa. This project was conducted with the aim of giving hands to those who missed their studies due to Covid'19 virus pandemic situation, to overcome educational side difficulties and also to help O/L students to face GCE O/L examination in the best way. In fact, the seminar series was held as a six days project on January 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31, 2021. Mathematics and science were the two subjects covered on seminar series. There were more than 1500 registrations for the seminar series. Since covid’19 pandemic, we conducted seminar series via zoom platform and also live streamed via YouTube channel of IEEE Student branch of University of Moratuwa. As Science and Mathematics were aimed at two subjects for the seminar series, there were a team of tutors for each subject to prepare a question paper according to standard paper versions and guidelines. Over the 6 days of seminar series 3 days were allocated for each subject , while 2 hours allocated for each session on weekend days from 8.00 a.m. -10.00 a.m. Seminars were organized in an attractive manner to students where they were able to post their questions in the chat box. At the end of all seminars, answers were given to their questions. And also after the seminar, every day we shared a google form with them to present their questions and we referred it to tutors and give answers through google document. Not only that but also we gave chance for students to contact tutors directly to solve their problems. Papers were given to the students before a week of the seminar of the relevant subject to try it at home. Through question papers we were able to cover the whole syllabus of science and mathematics. Question papers were organized according to O/L papers (Mathematics and science) structure. After each seminar we shared it's recording with students. We had live streaming of seminar series through the YouTube channel of IEEE student branch of University of Moratuwa, for the students who are unable to participate through zoom. We shared a feedback form with students after each seminar and we got amazing feedback by admiring our effort. Feedbacks received are attached to the end of the report.
