As the first phase of the Month of CodeGeniX, there was a Panel Discussion about “How to be successful in the IT Industry”. The session was conducted by 3 experienced panelists. Dr.Dhammika Elkaduwa , Senior Lecturer at Department of Computer Engineering at the University of Peradeniya and Head of School of Computing & IT at Sri Lanka Technological Campus. Mr. Ahesh Perera , Associate Manager of Software Engineering at Wiley Global Technology (Pvt) Ltd. Ms.Chathurangi Edussuriya , Software Engineer at Sysco LABS. The session was well moderated by Mr.Yohan Pandigama, lecturer at the School of Computing & IT of Sri Lanka Technological Campus. This event successfully happened on the 15th of May from 6 pm onwards via Zoom Platform and was live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube. We received more than 1100+ registrations and it was the first virtual event that was well attended by more than 1000 live participants in the history of SLTC. By conducting this event, we aimed to help IT enthusiasts in Sri Lanka choose the right careers and advance in their careers. And we provided knowledge to understand and develop the skills that are required to be successful in their future pathway. All the panelists guided them with the relevant career information, advice, and guidance that are suitable for their personal needs. And the participants were able to interact with the industry experts and get their expert view of their respective industries.
