The fourth workshop of the series “Sinhalen DOCS Move & Xplore Workshop #4 Startup: What, How, Who” was held on 25th of February 2021 via zoom online platform from 7 PM onwards in the aim of create a beneficial forum for those interested in learning more about Startup. This workshop was also a very successful one as the first three workshops of the webinar series, YouTube Content creation, Fiverr and Youth & Inventor. As a result, this project helped all the IEEE and LEO community across the world, and any young person who aspires to begin a Startup in the future. The following are some of the goals and priorities of the workshop: Introducing hidden entrepreneurship opportunities for enthusiastic youth. Providing necessary guidance to the people who are willing to start a startup to improve the quality of their services. Promoting the organizational names of IEEE and LEO within the Sri Lankan community. Boosting the community to increase their state of income. One of the most important tasks was to contact the workshop's resource individual. For conducting the workshop, we really wanted to have a personality with having ideas on Startup that can influence the youth on entrepreneurship. Therefore, we contacted, Mr. Dhammika Marasinghe, a Computer Engineer, Startup Enthusiast, Students Activities Committee Chairman of IEEE Sri Lanka Section for conducting the webinar. The process of sending emails was divided into two phases. In the first round, the secretary team sent an email invitation and a google calendar invitation to our main webinar host, Mr. Dhammika Marasinghe, as well as other special invitees, along with the Zoom meeting link to join the workshop. Finally, secretary team sent e-mails to all of the registered participants who had previously registered via the Google form with the zoom link. Around 130 participants had registered through the google form. From registrations, around 90 joined through Zoom platform and others joined through Facebook live broadcast. Publicity Post plan for PR and Publicity was arranged including the posts and dates by the committee head. All the posts were shared via WhatsApp and Facebook. The zoom video of “Startup; How, What, who” was streamed live in, The official Facebook page of Sinhalen Docs The moderator of the event was Jananga Sooriyaarachchi, a great personality with excellent compering skills. The speaker of the main webinar, Mr. Dhammika Marasinghe gave an overview about startups and current prevailing understanding on startups among the Sri Lankans using presentation slides. According to his speech, he explained the startup performance of Sri Lanka using statistics and the steps that can be taken to move up from it. Then he started to explain the reasons why startup often fails. Further, he explained the emerging trends in the Startup sector in the Sri Lanka and the world, Essential skills needed for a startup, Legal Structure and Funding a startup, Common pitfalls in the Sri Lankan startups, and Measures taken by different organizational bodies to empower startups. He also mentioned startup programs organized by various institutions and universities in Sri Lanka. Q & A session was effectively held, the questions that were sent to the session moderator, Jananga Sooriyaarachchi by the participants were directed to the facilitator.
