The ‘Sinhalen Docs’ project was officially initiated with the proceedings of its opening ceremony of the workshop series “Move and Xplore”. As the final initiative of the project, the panel discussion was held on 20th March 2021 at 10 am to 11.30 am via zoom online platform under the topic “Youth and The Development of Sri Lanka” with experts and professionals of various workforces of the society in order to obtain their valued thoughts and opinions as well. With the prevailing situation of the country, there is a huge probability of learning and seeking things using online platform. Not only that but also earning has become the digitalized. In that case our main aim is to make an advantageous platform for all the individuals who seek for the knowledge and proper guidance about Youth and the Development of Sri Lanka through this Panel Discussion. This was more profitable to young generation to implicit their hidden ideas about the youth and development of Sri Lanka. Therefore, we strive to narrow down what induces certain needs and to rebound with the right awareness and enhanced individualities to the general public. Some of the motives and goals behind the panel discussion as follows; Promoting the organizational names of Leo and IEEE within the Sri Lankan community. Promoting the basic ideas about youth and development domain of Sri Lanka. Boosting the young community to develop the country Panelists Dr Sharmini Perera (Dr Sharmini Perera received her doctor of Philosophy for Business Management Administration from Management and Science University of Malaysia. She is a certified Coach and mentor by the international authority for professional coaching and mentoring. Currently she is the Head of the Faculty of Business Studies in Sri Lanka Technological Campus) Dr Akila Wijethunga (Dr Akila Wijethunga Lecturer at University of Sri Jayawardanapura. And she has received her Bachelor’s Degree as well as her Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Peradeniya. Right now she is the Chair of IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka.) Mr Pathum Ranasinghe (Mr Pathum Ranasinghe Has received his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Sri Jayawardanapura. He serves as the Export Service officer at National Gem and Jewellery Authority. He is also a coordination secretary at Parliament of Sri Lanka. And he is the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Youth Parliament) Leo Mudith Jaysekara (Has received his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Starting off as the President of Leo Club of Polgasowita he has done extraordinary work to the Leo community. Right now he is Secretary of Leo Multiple District Council 306) Sending e-mails to the appropriate people who would attend the workshop was one of the key tasks assigned during the workshop's preparation. The process of sending emails was divided into two phases. In the first round, the secretary team sent an email invitation and a google calendar invitation to our panelists, as well as other special ebinar invitees, along with the Zoom meeting link to join the workshop. Finally, e-mails sent to all of the registered participants, as well as the special invitees in the Leo Club, who had previously registered via the Google form with the zoom link. Post plan for PR and Publicity was arranged including the posts and dates by the committee head. All the posts were shared via WhatsApp and Facebook. The zoom video of Sinhalen Docs panel discussion was streamed live in, The official Facebook page of Sinhalen Docs Around 60 participants had registered through the google form. From registrations, around 60 joined through Zoom platform and others joined through Facebook live broadcast. The moderator of the event was Leo Jananga Sooriyaarachchi, a great personality with excellent compering skills. First moderator invited Dr. Sharmini Perera to discuss her views on how Sri Lankan youth can use their strengths and abilities to develop the country against the covid pandemic. Dr. Akila Wijethunga to gave her opinion on how technology can contribute to the empowerment of the world. In her speech, she said that there was no active study or research has been conducted so far on how to act daily without interruption in the face of an epidemic. Prime Minister of the Young Parliament Mr. Pathum shared his views about how the current generation is connected with technology in the scholarly discourse. Leo Mudith Jayasekara emphasized that a young person should develop empathy from the family background before entering society and when a young person with empathy comes to volunteering, it is a great help for volunteering activities in his speech. Finally, a group photo was taken after the successful panel discussion. Then the panel discussion ended with the heartfelt thank you for scholarly lecturers done by the moderator Jananga Sooriyaarachchi. The webinar was ended by 11.45 pm Throughout the past few months, the Sinhalen Docs committee has been able to successfully complete various types of sessions, seminars, events etc which have helped many people all over the country to join hands with us and enhance their knowledge. As the conclusive remarks of this remarkable project, a finishing weekend along with a closing ceremony will be conducted on 21st of March 2021 at 10.30 am to 12.30 pm in the Leo Youth Centre, Colombo 07.
