Sinhalen DOCS’ is a Continuous Mega-project that had been run from 2020 October to 2021 March which was organized by the IEEE Student Branch of Sri Lanka Technological Campus and LEO Club of Sri Lanka Technological Campus, which was expect to give solutions to the notable and substantial issues in the country by using the potential reach of the two voluntarily involved organization. The motive of this wide scope endeavor is to empower the Sri Lankan nation, especially the young generation by directing their attention towards the emerging and most useful technological and economic trends in today’s world. The brand name of ‘Sinhalen DOCS’ consists of the 3 main initiatives. Watch & Learn – YouTube Video series on Microsoft Office Suite Move & Xplore – Webinar sessions which focuses on a plethora of topics Track & Reboot – Nationwide survey on technology A sub initiative of the hallmark Project Sinhalen DOCS “Move & Xplore” officially initiated with Induction Ceremony which is organized to introduce “Move & Xplore” concept to the society. Here the motives and goals of the opening ceremony was explained in details to the attendees, alongside marking the beginning of the workshop series “Move and Xplore”, where everything related to Microsoft Office will be shared to the people. There are some objectives that are intended to fulfill through our project ‘Sinhalen DOCS Move & Xplore’; Promoting the technology-based methods inside the business domain of Sri Lanka Increasing foreign earned income for Sri Lanka. Providing necessary guidance to the freelancers to improve their incomes Introducing hidden entrepreneurship opportunities for enthusiastic youth. Supporting to overcome the scarcity of technological resources in various parts of the country. Boosting the community to increase income within their families instead of being contingent on foreign sources of income. Sinhalen DOCS Move & Xplore Induction was held on 17th of October 2020 from 9.30 am onwards with the presence of ▪Mr. Milinda Rajapaksha (Former Spokesperson to then Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksha/ Politician/Author) ▪ Mr. Theshara Jayasinghe (Chairman/Director General of National Youth Services council) ▪ Leo Champaka Dammage ( Mutiple District President of Leo District 306 Sri Lanka) ▪ Ms Warunika Hippola – (Regional Student Representative of IEEE Region 10 Asia- Pacific) The project was planned to be held at the Leo Youth Center in Colombo and money was also allocated for bookings. But due to an unexpected outbreak we had to hold it on virtual platform. Around 332 participants had registered through the google form. From registrations, around 150 joined through Zoom platform and others joined through Facebook live broad cast. The first item of the event was to welcome the gathering with a project explanation. Manodya Nabadawewa, the project chairman of Sinhalen Docs warmly welcomed the honorable chief guest Mr. Milinda Rajapaksha, and other guests, Ms. Warunika Hippola, Leo Champka Dammage, Mr. Theshara Jayasinghe and Mr. Pasindu Fernando. Also, he welcomed special invitees Leo Praminda Vindika, Mr. Vidura Dhanajaya, Mr. Ikum Gunawardhane, and all the participants who gathered in the ceremony. Ms. Warunika Hippola the chairman of IEEE WIE SAC SL section. In her speech, she gave a brief overview on IEEE SL section, events that have been organized by IEEE SL section such as IEEE Techno Meet ups, IEEE SL Inspire and IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka. The next speech was done by Mr. Theshara Jayasinghe, the chairman of National Youth Services Council (NYSC). He explained the importance of digital technologies and the influence of third industrial revolution- digital revolution on the society. After all the speeches of guests, the next time was to a Q & A session. Q & A session was effectively held, the questions that were put on the live chat were directed to the speakers by the event moderators Hasira Mahel and Thameera Dhanajaya and the questions were answered by the respective speakers. The induction ceremony was ended very successfully as per the event agenda. Therefore, we wrapped up the meeting by 12.30 pm. Normally a feedback is more important for the future endeavors of a project. Therefore, we sent a feedback form all the participants including special guests. In there, we had a remarkable feedback from both special guests and event day participants. So, it will be a huge support to success our future plans through those feedbacks. The zoom video induction ceremony of “Move & Xplore” was streamed live in both “Sinhalen Docs” Facebook page and SLTC Leos Facebook page.
