The first webinar of Robotrics 21/22 which was organized by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, the student chapter of University of Peradeniya was held on 29 th of May 2021 from 6.00 p.m onwards via zoom platform and Facebook live. The webinar was conducted by four graduates from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, who has practised and gained good knowledge in various fields such as robotics, PCB designing, control systems, computer vision and artificial intelligence and PLC programming through their undergraduate projects and international robotics competitions. The webinar was opened for all the undergraduates interested in Robotics and who plan to succeed in the Robotics Industry in the future. At the commencement of the event, an introduction of the keynote speakers was delivered. Afterwards, Eng. J.D.C.C. Rathnapala started the session by presenting marvellous achievements and various aspects of the robotics field. Afterwards, Eng. H.P. Madusanka talked about numerous robotics projects they worked out in many local and foreign robotics competitions. The participants were able to get a better understanding of those influencing projects and the wonderful experiences they got during these competitions a s undergraduates. Then, Eng. R.T. Munasingha’s speech on the way to be succeded in robotics projects benefitted all who were enthusiastic about the robotics industry. Finally, Eng. R. Premathilake highlighted various other advantages and opportunities of being passionate about the modern world of robotics and automation. At the end of the main session of guest speakers, the participants were able to lighten their minds moreover in the Q/A session, where they were able to get answers to a lot of questions and clarified their doughts regarding the future of the robotics industry and how to get ready to be a part of the near future as robotics enthusiasts. Finally, to remark the end of the first webinar of the webinar series , the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Udula Ranasinghe, the secretary of IEEE Robotics and Automation Society.
