Description
The guest speaker was Eng. Lakshitha Gunasekara, Chairman, IEEE IAS SriLanka section (term 19/20), and the session was also facilitated by Senior lecturer Dr. Rasara Samarasinghe, Chapter Advisor of IAS University of Moratuwa. The webinar was open to all the enthusiastic volunteers and saw the participation of over fifty young volunteers. During the session, a lot of interesting and important topics were discussed. Dr. Rasara provided information on what the IAS is, what IAS did and what it hopes to do as a student branch chapter in the future, and why they should be part of the IAS Student Branch chapter. In addition, Mr. Lakshitha shared many interesting facts about how he started his volunteer journey as a young undergraduate and the intriguing experiences and opportunities he had gained by being a member of the Industrial application society. He also spoke about the achievements and recognitions that the Industrial Applications Society of the University of Moratuwa was able to achieve and inspired all participants to face them in the future. In the end, there was a Q&A session in which the participants were allowed to solve their doubts and questions.
