NanoSpark’21- webinar and a Panel Discussion with the theme of Nanotechnology through Electronics

October 14, 2021 at 1:30 PM - October 16, 2021 at 3:30 PM @ Online event

Description

Nanotechnology is the term given to the areas of science and engineering where phenomena that take place at dimensions in the nanometer scale are considered. The nanometer scale is utilized in various fields namely design, characterization, production and application of materials, structures, devices and systems. Nanotechnology in electronics increases the capability of electronic devices, while reducing their weight and power consumption. Due to its various advantageous properties which increase efficiency in electronic systems, nanotechnology could be considered as the future of technology and a field that is of utmost importance. The IEEE Industrial Electronics Society student branch chapter of SLTC always give a platform to build up leadership qualities and spread technological knowledge amongst undergraduates. Therefore, for the first time IEEE IES has made a platform for those who are interested in nanotechnology to gain something new as “NanoSpark’21 | The Future Player” with the intention of making undergraduates aware of what nanotechnology is and its impact on electronics field which is an open platform for all the undergraduates in Sri Lanka. The project “NanoSpark’21” is categorized into two phases: 1. A webinar and a Panel Discussion with the theme of Nanotechnology through Electronics 2. Competition on Article Writing The webinar on “Nanotechnology in changing technological world” will be the first event of the project and it will be held on the 14th October 2021 as a virtual session via Zoom online platform. Through this session, the participants will gain an understanding about nanotechnology, its uses in the industrial scale and the future of nanotech in various industries. Panel discussion As the second session there will be a panel discussion, on the 16th October 2021, which provides a platform that the participants would be given the opportunity to witness a live panel discussion about nanotechnology by two panelists who are well-educated in the field of nanotechnology. Apart from that, a Q & A session will take place through which participants would be able to clear their doubts on the subject.
