IEEE Day is an annual event celebrated on the first Tuesday in October, IEEE Day 2021 was held on the 5 th of October 2021 with several celebrations around the world. When we considered the IEEE Sri Lanka has expanded to more than 15 universities covering all the state and private technical colleges in the country. Therefore, IEEE Day 2021 was celebrated in each student branch with different themes. In there, IEEE HoBnoBBers was a more significant event related to the IEEE Day 2021 in Sri Lanka. IEEE HoBnoBBers is the IEEE Day 2021 related event organized with the collaboration of four epic university student branches in Sri Lanka namely IEEE Student Branch of Sri Lanka Technological Campus, IEEE Uva Wellassa University Student Branch, IEEE Student Branch of the University of Kelaniya and, IEEE Student Branch of Vocational Technology . Each university has organized sessions on important topics related to IEEE and other different aspects. They were also organized some entertaining games to remark this day. The IEEE Student Branch of Sri Lanka Technological Campus organized the session on 12th October at 6.00 pm via zoom online platform and YouTube live stream. The event was started with the introductory video of IEEE HoBnoBBers. The moderator of the event was Neranjana Rashmi and the welcome speech was done by Raveesha Thathsarani representing the SLTC organizing committee. There, the discussion was based on Personal Branding and its perceptions. The session was named as “Brand Your Self With Peter D’ Almeida”. The guest speaker for this session was the Former CEO of Millennium IT, Former CEO of N* able and a very well-known actor of “Koobiyo” Teledrama (Dudley Maldeniya), Mr. Peter D’ Almeida. The event was successfully held with the participation of 256+ participants on Zoom online platform and 178+ participants on YouTube live stream. At the end of the session by Mr. Peter D’ Almeida, there was question and answer session. In that case, there were many questions raised to the guest speaker regarding the personal branding and he was answered them all within that time. After that informative session, there was Kahoots quiz for all the participants. That was based on total of 15 general questions related to the personal branding and the questions related to the undergraduates. It was done interesting manner by the moderators; Hasira Koswatta and Pahan Rathnayake representing the SLTC organizing committee. The winner of that quiz was Pasan Dewinda from university of Kelaniya. He was the first winner of the IEEE Day swag t - shirt that was mentioned as the gift for the Kahoot quizzes. Then, in order to give a refreshment for all the participants, there was entertainment item by Mark Seneviratne who is an undergraduate in School of Music of Sri Lanka Technological Campus. With the cheerful minds by his song, the next Kahoots quiz was begun. That quiz also consisted of 15 questions based on general knowledge. The winner of that Kahoots quiz was Chadurya and she was able to win another IEEE Day 2021 swag t-shirt. The end of the event “ Brand Your Self With Peter D’ Almeida ” was remarked with competitive Kahoots quizzes. The vote of thanks was given by Nimantha Karunanayke representing the SLTC organizing committee. It was a huge success with the immense contribution of all the organizing committee members.
