Responsibilities of a Transmission Operation & Maintenance Engineer was a beneficial webinar organized by IEEE Student Branch University of Ruhuna with the collaboration of Power and Energy Society (PES) Student Branch University of Ruhuna . The webinar was focusing on all the students in the electrical engineering department and 1 st year students. This was held successfully on 25 th June 2021 through zoom platform with a participation of more than 100 participants . Theme of the webinar was Responsibilities of a Transmission Operation & Maintenance Engineer. The speaker of the webinar is Eng. Bhagya Wickramasinghe who was the one of two best innovators at CEB innovations 2020 and proud product of University of Ruhuna. He is currently serving as electrical engineer at CEB in the Transmission Operation & Maintenance central unit. And with all his experience of his career and academic life he addressed the audience and most of the participants were motivated and inspired (with respect to the feedback). The webinar mainly discussed the system that was used to detect the fault of transmission lines that were made using image processing. That system detects it, reaches to fault or not using the color of the insulator. And he shared his practical and technical experience with us and discussed the problems about the breaking insulators. This is a great webinar to students who have a micro conception about their career. So that webinar was a good opportunity for everyone who was willing to have a successful career in the electrical field. The ultimate conclusion of the webinar is that the message that is intended to be delivered by the Industry Applications Society could be successfully achieved. And also, the mission of fostering the enthusiasm of upskilling the career of the undergraduates. The webinar's final judgment is that the message meant to be presented by the Industry Applications Society may be given successfully. It was a great webinar to those who are willing to have a successful career in the future in the electrical field.
