MERCon 2021 organized by the Engineering Research Unit (ERU) of the University of Moratuwa in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch University of Moratuwa successfully held from 27th July to 30th July of 2021. With the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, MERCon 2021 was held as a virtual conference, considering the safety of both the academic and research communities. The chairpersons of the program committee of MERCon 2021, the virtual research conference in the International Multidisciplinary Engineering Research Conference were as follows. Gamage Local Organizing Co-Chair - Dr. A.I.T. Gamage Local Organizing Co-Chair - Dr. V. Logeeshan Special Sessions Chair - Dr. C. Edissooriya MERCon 2020 comprised of keynotes and technical conference sessions which were held on the 27 th and 28 th of July, where 130 research papers were presented. 9 workshop sessions were organized parallel to MERCon 2021 on the 29th and 30 th of July. A webinar organized by the IEEE Professional Communications Society Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa was one of the workshop sessions. As the hosting Student Branch of MERCon 2021, the IEEE Student Branch University of Moratuwa, fulfilled its responsibilities to make the event a success in every possible way.
