Description
The event ‘Embedding Computers into Life’ was a webinar which was held virtually via Zoom on 30th October 2021 by IEEE IES Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa. The welcome speech was delivered by the event co-chair, Mr. Chamath Sandaru after the commencement of the event by the moderator, Ms. Hiruni Wijewardena. After that the guest speaker for the event, Dr. Anusha Withana was introduced and was invited to conduct the session. Dr. Anusha Withana is an ARC DECRA Fellow and Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney, a Postdoctoral fellow at Max Planck Institute for Informatics Campus, Germany and he was recognized as one of the top 30 Most Innovative Engineers in Australia by the Engineers Australia, In 2020 The session was focused about the latest trends in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) such as virtual reality, thought to text transformation, gesture control, Multisensory devices, etc. which were very interesting to the audience. Upon conclusion of the speech, a Q&A session was conducted by the moderator and questions were raised by the audience, which were rigorously answered by the speaker. The chapter advisor, Dr. Peshala Jayasekara addressed the gathering admiring the success of the event and expressed his views on the discussed topic. The event was concluded after the vote of thanks by the event co-chair, Mr. Wikum Jayasanka.
