HackTron v1.0 Game Development Bootcamp - Day 02

To enhance that aim, we have planned to launch the project; “HackTron v1.0” with highly motivated participation of over 30 universities in Sri Lanka through 90-degree programs related to the Information and Communication Industry under two main chapters as Bootcamp and Hackathon. We have used Facebook live, Twitch, YouTube, and Zoom platforms to conduct this entire phase. Our key goals for this project are: To broaden the game development community in Sri Lanka Encouraging young undergraduates who are interested in the game development industry Provide an opportunity for undergraduates to enter the industry Supporting game development companies by creating highly skilled game developers Creating a collaborative space to build a community in the game development industry Making a new revival in the game development industry in Sri Lanka and winning the global stage. As the first chapter of the project, it consists of 10 continuous days of Bootcamp. The entire Boot Camp was held from 30th September to 09th October 2021. Through the Bootcamp, enthusiasts can sharpen their knowledge on game development with Unity Engine , and after sharpening their knowledge; they can create a game with their ideas and compete in the Hackathon to be the best. The Bootcamp mainly covered 3D & 2D Game Developing, Concept Art Designing, and 3D Designing. The entire Bootcamp was conducted by 8 Resource Persons from Prodigi Interactive, RAM Studios, and Heladev. The second day of Bootcamp was conducted by Mr. Anuradha Kumara from RAM Studios and mainly covered the topic Unity Basic and Terrain Designing. Moreover, he gave an idea on Unity workspace, Terrain Designing, Introduction to physics in unity, and Lighting System. About 400 live participants were engaged with this event through Youtube, FB, and Twitch platforms. At the end of the session, about 10 minutes were allocated to answer the questions from participants which are aroused through SLIDO.
