October 18, 2021 at 6:30 PM - October 24, 2021 at 6:29 PM @ Online event
Description
Nanotechnology is the term given to the areas of science and engineering where phenomena that take place at dimensions in the nanometer scale are considered. The nanometer scale is utilized in various fields namely design, characterization, production and application of materials, structures, devices and systems. Nanotechnology in electronics increases the capability of electronic devices, while reducing their weight and power consumption. Due to its various advantageous properties which increase efficiency in electronic systems, nanotechnology could be considered as the future of technology and a field that is of utmost importance. The IEEE Industrial Electronics Society student branch chapter of SLTC always give a platform to build up leadership qualities and spread technological knowledge amongst undergraduates. Therefore, for the first time IEEE IES has made a platform for those who are interested in nanotechnology to gain something new as “NanoSpark’21 | The Future Player” with the intention of making undergraduates aware of what nanotechnology is and its impact on electronics field which is an open platform for all the undergraduates in Sri Lanka. The project “NanoSpark’21” is categorized into two phases: 1. A webinar and a Panel Discussion with the theme of Nanotechnology through Electronics 2. Competition on Article Writing After the webinar and the panel discussion, a competition will be held which will provide a great opportunity to the participants to write an article on “New innovations on nanotechnology in engineering field”. The main aim of this competition is to make young generation aware of new innovations in nanotechnology and encourage them to explore new things in the technological world. The submissions for the competition will be started on the 19th of October 2021 and the winners are to be announced on the 2nd of November 2021.
