The Inaugural Organizing Committee Meeting of the project Month of CodeGeniX was held on the 05th of May 2021 via zoom platform. The official start time of the meeting was 6:00 PM. The main objective of this meeting was to discuss the project plan of project "Month of CodeGeniX". Following are the board members and the guests who attended the meeting. Project Co-Chairs: Lakitha Madanayake, Wageesha Isira, Chamodya Avishka, Saketha Pulasthi, Thameera Dananjaya Project Secretaries: Anuradha Kandewaththa, Daneesha Perera, Achini Shashikala, Devindi Gamlath Guests: Randunu Bandara - Student Advisor of IEEE CS, Navodya Ishan - Chairman of IEEE CS, Dinuka Ekanayake - Vice-Chairman of IEEE CS After the welcome speech by Thameera Dananjaya, Lakitha Madanayaka gave a brief introduction about the project. As he explained, the Month of CodeGeniX was a series of interconnecting programs. It will be the 1st experience of its kind in SLTC history. The series includes; Panel Discussion - A virtual panel discussion on “How to be successful in the IT industry”. Road to Codemania - A webinar series of four informative sessions on Python Programming and a project evaluation for participants. AdaGrad - A webinar covering Machine Learning subject matters guaranteed to support the mastery of Machine Learning skills. Codemania v2.0 - A coding night of algorithmic coding exclusively held for SLTC undergraduates only. The project will span across both May and June 2021. The entire series of projects are designed with links interconnecting projects with each other. Thereby aiming to provide all computing and tech enthusiastic participants with the knowledge and guidance to step forward in the IT industry. Also, it will be a great opportunity for students who are unable to continue their studies because of the Covid 19 pandemic situation. Furthermore, the series highly emphasizes empowering the SLTC student community by providing a unique experience paired with all essential guidance through an exciting yet educational series of programs. After the introduction, each one of the projects was briefly explained by their project co-chairs. Next, Chapter Chairman Navodya Ishan, Chapter Student Advisor Randunu Bandara, and Chapter Vice Chairman Dinuka Ekanayake gave their ideas about the project plan and briefly talk about the Chapter. They asked all of the members to improve their skills while collaborating with others. Finally, each team was assigned to the relevant breakout rooms for discussion with their team heads. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM after coming to the agreements on the next meeting. The next meeting was scheduled for the 12th of June 2021 tentatively.
