SolidWorks Workshop - Session1

Description
Understanding this necessity, IEEE IAS SBC of the University of Moratuwa set forth a two-day workshop on SolidWorks to impart knowledge to undergraduates in any university. The resources person was J. A Pasindu M. Jayanayake, Final year Undergraduate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa. The webinar was open to all the undergraduates at the University of Moratuwa as well as other universities. There were more than 400 participants had registered for the session and saw the participation of over two hundred through the zoom platform. And also, some had joined via Facebook live stream. Firstly, introduced the application interface with the various tools and functions available to users in the software. Then, how to sketch out 2D drawings and apply smart dimensions was demonstrated in detail. Later, it was explained how to make a solid part before assembling and how to experiment with features. At the end of the session, participants could have a good insight into the design process from fundamentals.
