VOLTA Webinar Series - Day 2

The project 'VOLTA' is going to be focused on enhancing Arduino knowledge of island wide schooling students through webinars,quizzes and a competition. Focused target group is going to be grade 10,11,12 and 13 while the expected paticipation is 1000. Moreover needed knowledge will be offered through 8 webinars and they are going to be conducted by professionals in the field. They are supposed to have an interactive learning platform and a regular assignment system. Additionally we are going to provide arduino kits for the schools those lack resources. As the final outcome it is supposed to have a competition to evaluate the success of the project as well as to highlight students’ smart ideas in micro controller programming. Final competition is going to be under supervision of panel of judgers and winners are going to be awarded. Day 2 –Second webinar was held on 12 th of March 2022 and the guest speaker was Mr.Ruchira Lakshan Perera, an Application Engineers at Synopsys Lanka(Pvt) and a former temporary instructor in university of Ruhuna. The moderator, Ms.Uma Fernando explained the rule and regulations of the series and the quiz. The content for the second day was “Basic Electronics and Arduino Board overview”. Introduction to electronics and electronic components, introduction to Arduino, Pin configuration and architecture, device and platform features, concept of digital and analog ports, familiarizing with Arduino interfacing board, types of Arduino board and uses according to the type were explained in the session. 240 participants were there for the webinar and a quiz with 10 questions related to the 2 nd day theory was given for the participant.
