Community service provides an excellent way to get to know different people and their cultures. It can be an eye-opening experience to realize that there are people living in conditions that are very different from our own. Community service also gives us a chance to help those who are less fortunate than us and who may be in need of our assistance. On August 14th, 2022, the IEEE SIGHT Sri Lanka Section Group completed their " Sihinayata Peraman " (Journey to the dream) community service project at the Thudugala Sri Buddharakhithrama Watadageya Maha Viharaya. We were able to gather nearly 80 students and some parents to attend the program. Prof. Rangika Halwathura, Mr. Chanaka Hettige, and Mr. Layan Mendis and executive committee members from IEEE Sri Lanka Section SIGHT were the resource persons of this program. The program included some motivational speeches, awareness sessions on career paths & educational opportunities, and some networking activities. The participants shared many positive feedback at the end of the program.
